‘4th Annual Kentucky Care Project’

For those of you who have been curious as to when we will be beginning our project this year: I am waiting to find out when the trailer will be dropped off. It looks like it may be the first or second week of August. Please be patient and keep filling up boxes!
In the Appalachian region of Kentucky is a situation that should not be happening in America. But on a daily basis, the simple needs of life are the most challenging: food, clothing, housing and medical attention. In this day and age we have families in desperate need of food, clothing and a roof over their head. In winter months, temperatures reach below zero and the people are living in trailers where the bottoms are rotted out.
Once again, The Observer is getting prepared for our Kentucky Care project. In the coming weeks we will have the date when we will begin collecting and tell you what items will be needed. I ask if some of the stores in the area could call me at 201-991-1600 so we could arrange an area where folks could come to get boxes; this always seems to be a problem.
If you are interested in volunteering this year, please contact me immediately at 201-991-1600.
