It seemed like it was yesterday when Jenn Pettigrew was minding the nets at Kearny High School, earning a reputation as being one of the top girls’ soccer goalkeepers in New Jersey.
Now, two years have passed since Pettigrew graduated from Kearny High, after she had a chance to travel the globe with the U.S. National U-17 team and then moved on to play soccer at Seton Hall University.
“It’s all going by so fast,” Pettigrew said. “I can’t believe I only have two years of college left.”
But Pettigrew has done more in her two years of college than most people do in a lifetime.
Pettigrew has been the starting goalkeeper for the Seton Hall women’s soccer program for the last two seasons.
Last fall, she had a brilliant year, earning Third Team All-Big East Conference honors, allowing just 1.28 goals per game, which already ranks as the third best average in the history of the Seton Hall program.
She’s also been voted a team captain, quite an achievement for a sophomore. She already ranks among the Pirates’ career leaders in saves, minutes played and goals against average.
