• A basketball clinic for ages 7 to 14 will be conducted at the PBGC, 663 Kearny Ave., on Thursday, June 7, at 7 p.m. Coaches Charles Dolan, Tania and Mark Latka will conduct the clinic. Refreshments will be served and prizes will be awarded. Everyone is welcome.
• The Presbyterian Boys- Girls Club, 663 Kearny Ave., will have its annual beach party dance on Friday, June 8, from 7 to 10 p.m. Guests are encouraged to dress for the beach. Prizes will be given to the best dancers and best beachwear. Guests are restricted to teenagers only. The dance will be supervised by Kearny teachers and members of the Board of Directors.

• The Salvation Army, 28 Beech St., Kearny, is offering computer classes on Monday and Tuesday mornings from 10 a.m. to noon. A $30 fee is charged per 12 hours of instruction. • A Special DeKorte Park two-hour Plant Walk, hosted by the New Jersey Meadowlands Commission and Bergen County Audubdon Society will be held on Sunday, June 10, at 10 a.m. with botanist Edith Wallace. The group will be looking for the plants that attract birds and butterflies, and which ones would work in your home gardens. • The Lyndhurst Health Department will resume a free meditation class lead by Lyndhurst resident, Parbatie Singh. Singh was trained at the Oneness University in India and has become a teacher in meditation. This class includes techniques to help with stress, depression, and helps promote a sense of calm and relaxation. The class returns in June and occurs every Monday at 6 p.m. at the Lyndhurst Health Department. No registration is required.
