• A Tricky Tray fundraiser will be held for Margie Maltese at the Harrison East Newark Elks on June 10 at 2 p.m. The event will include door prizes and raffles. • A basketball clinic for ages 7 to 14 will be conducted at the PBGC, 663 Kearny Ave., on Thursday, June 7, at 7 p.m. Coaches Charles Dolan, Tania and Mark Latka will conduct the clinic. Refreshments will be served and prizes will be awarded. Everyone is welcome.

• The Presbyterian Boys- Girls Club, 663 Kearny Ave., will have its annual beach party dance on Friday, June 8, from 7 to 10 p.m. Guests are encouraged to dress for the beach. Prizes will be given to the best dancers and best beachwear. Guests are restricted to teenagers only. The dance will be supervised by Kearny teachers and members of the Board of Directors.

• The West Hudson Detachment of the Marine Corps League invites all former and active duty Marines and FMF Corpsmen to attend an open house, which will be held every Friday from 7 to 10 p.m. at 286 Belgrove Drive, Kearny. Guests are welcome.

• The Kearny Rotary Club meets every Wednesday afternoon at 12:15 at La Fiamma Restaurant, 440 Harrison Ave., in Harrison. • The Ancient Order of Hibernians, Division 7, Hudson County, meets on the second Wednesday of every month at 7:30 p.m. at the Irish American Association, 95 Kearny Ave., Kearny. New members encouraged to attend !!!

• The Salvation Army, 28 Beech St., Kearny, is offering computer classes on Monday and Tuesday mornings from 10 a.m. to noon. A $30 fee is charged per 12 hours of instruction. The classes cover basic computer skills (mouse, keyboard, Internet), email, as well as Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint.

• A Special DeKorte Park two-hour Plant Walk, hosted by the New Jersey Meadowlands Commission and Bergen County Audubdon Society will be held on Sunday, June 10, at 10 a.m. with botanist Edith Wallace. The group will be looking for the plants that attract birds and butterflies, and which ones would work in your home gardens. NJMC Pontoon Boat Tours will be held on June 7, 13 and 15 at 5:30 p.m. Tickets are $15 per person. Get an up-close view of the Meadowlands District’s spectacular scenic beauty and wildlife with a two-hour guided pontoon boat cruise of the Hackensack River and its surrounding marshes. • The Lyndhurst Health Department will resume a free meditation class lead by Lyndhurst resident, Parbatie Singh. Singh was trained at the Oneness University in India and has become a teacher in meditation. This class includes techniques to help with stress, depression, and helps promote a sense of calm and relaxation. The class returns in June and occurs every Monday at 6 p.m. at the Lyndhurst Health Department. No registration is required.

“Ma! Ma! Where’s My Pa? Lyndhurst Library Children’s Room announces the following events: Walk-in Story Time for pre-k to Grade 2 on June 6, 7, 11, 13 and 14. This program will resume in September.
