Patricia A. Brady

Patricia A. Brady, 59, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, Sept. 20, at Clara Maass Hospital with her loving family at her side after a two-year battle with cancer.

Arrangements were by the Armitage and Wiggins Funeral Home, 596 Belgrove Drive, Kearny. A funeral Mass was held in St. Stephen’s Church, followed by interment in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover.

Pat was born in Newark to her late parents Andrew J. and Mary E. (nee McCormack) Brady. She moved to Kearny where she spent the rest of her life.

Pat worked for Prudential Insurance Company in Newark for over 30 years, retiring in 1999.

She is survived by her loving brothers Andrew J. Jr. (JoAnn), Denis, James and Joseph. She was the loving aunt of nieces Kelly, Melissa and Kaitie and nephew Denis Jr.

Celestina Cunha Fonseca DaSilva

Celestina Cunha Fonseca DaSilva, 74, died on Tuesday, Sept.18, at her home in Kearny.

Arrangements were by the Thiele-Reid family Funeral Home, 585 Belgrove Drive, Kearny. A funeral mass was at St. Cecilia Church, Kearny on Sept. 20, followed by interment on Saturday, Sept. 22, at Cemiterio Da Freguesia De Sao Jacinto, Aveiro, Portugal. Celestina was born in Portugal and came to this country in 1967, settling in Newark. She lived in Kearny for the last 33 years. She is survived by her husband Jose Silva, children Nancy Wozniczko (Marek) and Joseph I. Silva (Priscilla); siblings Maria DaCunha, Celeste Nogueira, Rosa Cravo, Carlos DaFonseca and Isidro DaFonseca and her beloved grandchildren Brianna Silva and Jacob and Zoe Celetine Wozniczko.

Simon Hryhorowycz

Simon Hryhorowycz, 86, died on Tuesday, Sept. 18, in the Clara Maas Continuing Care Center at West Hudson in Kearny.

Arrangements were by the Thiele-Reid Family Funeral Home, 585 Belgrove Drive, Kearny. A funeral Mass was held in St. Stephen’s Church, Kearny, on Sept. 21, followed by private entombment. Condolences and memories may be shared at www.thiele-reid.com.

Simon was born in the Ukraine and came to this country when he was 35. He lived in Kearny for the last 50 years.

He worked for S.P. Penick in Lyndhurst for many years. Most recently, he drove for American & Foreign Auto Parts in North Arlington for the last five years.

He was an avid bowler.

He is survived by his stepson Peter Aleo and his wife Bonita and grandchildren Dana Aleo and Tina Ricciardi. He was predeceased by his wife Virginia (Pacella) Hryhorowycz.
