A complaint about a car blocking a driveway brought police to a Livingston Ave. location at 10 p.m. Upon arrival, police said they found no one in the parked vehicle and began a search by ringing doorbells on the block. Soon after, police said they came upon the vehicle’s owner as he emerged from a home he was visiting, a few doors from the driveway. Earlier, police said, they spotted inside the car, in clear view, several ziplock bags containing what appeared to be marijuana. After towing the vehicle, police issued the owner, Mundesh Puri, 33, of Franklin Park, summonses for parking illegally, possession of drugs and possession of drugs in a motor vehicle. He was released pending an appearance in municipal court.
At 2:15 a.m., police executed a motor vehicle stop at Rutherford Ave. and Jackson Place after observing a Chrysler swerving over double yellow traffic lines. Police issued summonses to the driver, Richard Jablonski, 45, of Little Ferry, charging him with DWI, refusal to take an Alcotest, careless driving, failure to maintain a lane and no registration. He was released pending a court date.
Police charged Anthony Delguercio, 36, of Lyndhurst, with shoplifting at 7:33 p.m. at the Shop & Shop on Lewandowski St. after store security alleged that Delguercio attempted to walk out of the supermarket with $271 worth of items without paying.
At 6:12 p.m., police stopped a 1998 Ford Econline van operated by Ryszard Szewczyk, 63, of East Rutherford, as he was traveling northbound on Ridge Rd. near Kingsland Ave. Police ticketed Szewczyk on charges of careless driving and DWI and released him pending a court appearance.
