Ronald F. Catrambone

Superintendent of the Harrison D.P.W.

Ronald F. Catrambone, 61, of Harrison, passed away on Sunday, Feb. 10, at St. Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston, with his loving family by his side. He was a lifelong resident of Harrison.

Ronnie is survived by his beloved wife of 42 years Sharon (nee Gilmore). He is devoted father to Kevin and his wife Sharon and Nicole and her husband Nuno Ligeiro. A cherished grandfather of Justin, Gia, Jordan and Nicholas, he was the dear brother of Joseph and the late Penny Johnson and many brothers and sisters-in-law. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and dear friends.

Ronald is predeceased by his parents Nicholas and Mary Catrambone.

Ronnie was the superintendent of the Harrison D.P.W. for the past 10 years. He was chair of the Board of Adjustments. He was also a member of the Harrison East Newark Elks Lodge #2326.

Funeral services were under the direction of the Mulligan Funeral Home, 331 Cleveland Avenue, Harrison. A funeral Mass was held at Holy Cross Church, Harrison on Wednesday Feb. 13. Richard F. DeVivo

Richard F. DeVivo, 71, of Harrison, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, Feb. 17.

The funeral will be conducted from the Mulligan Funeral Home, 331 Cleveland Ave., Harrison, on Wednesday, Feb. 20, at 10:15 a.m. A funeral Mass will be held at Holy Cross Church, Harrison at 11 a.m. Friends may call Wednesday from 9 a.m. until the time of service. Born in Jersey City, Richie was a lifelong resident of Harrison. He was the owner and operator of North Jersey Appliance Warehouse, Harrison. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #4054, Union.

Richie is survived by his wife, Patricia DeVivo (nee McBride), a daughter, Randy DeVivo, a son, Richard F. DeVivo Jr. and his wife, Margaret, grandchildren Richard M. and Zachary DeVivo, a sister Mary Ann Cook and her husband Ronald and a brother Michael DeVivo. He was also an uncle to many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to the American Cancer Society c/o the funeral home in loving memory of Richie.

Norman J. Ellis

Norman J. Ellis, 84, of North Arlington, formerly of Kearny, died on Monday, Feb. 11. A funeral Mass was offered on Thursday, Feb. 14, at St. Stephen’s Church, Kearny after visitation at the Condon Funeral Home, 684 Kearny Ave., Kearny.

Mr. Ellis was laid to rest at Holy Cross Cemetery with military honors.

Norman served in the United States Army from 1946 to 1948. He was a traffic manager for C.W. Estes Co. in Lyndhurst, before retiring in 1993.

Mr. Ellis is survived by his wife of 55 years, Margaret (Hayes), and his children, Mark, Brian and his wife Linda, Kathleen Hood and her husband Charles, Suzanne Zaros and her husband Daniel, Michael and his wife Michele, and Robert and his wife Paula Ellis. He was predeceased by his son, James Ellis, in 1986 and his brother Edwin Ellis. His sister Marilyn Dick, also survives as well as his 11 adoring grandchildren, Charles, Nicole, Christopher, Kyle, Jennifer, Courtney, Alexandria, Andrew, Angela, Matthew, and Joseph.

John J. O’Grady Jr.

John J. O’Grady Jr. died in Newark on Oct. 12. He was 77.

Private arrangements are by the Armitage and Wiggins Funeral Home in Kearny.

Husband of Joan (nee Kirby) he is survived by his children Patrick, William, Joanie Sloezen, Margaret Calero, Rosemary Kaufman, Patricia Madarro and Michael. Brother of Mary Ann Kennel, he is also survived by many grandchildren. He was predeceased by his sons Steven and John.

Kenneth W. Rhein

Kenneth W. Rhein, a lifelong Kearny resident, died on Feb. 10 in St. Michael’s Medical Center. He was 83.

Mr. Rhein served in both the Navy and the Army post World War II and during the Korean Conflict and is a life member of American Legion Post 33 in North Bergen. He was a member of The Adoniram Masonic Lodge in Lyndhurst and The Kearny P.B.A. He was a police officer for 25 years, retiring as a detective for the Kearny Police Department in 1981.

Husband for 58 years of Marie (nee Sieroka), he was father of Kenneth Wm. Rhein (Angela), Elizabeth A. Rhein and the late David N. Rhein; father-in-law of Margaret Rhein; brother of Phyllis Bruce, Eileen A. Waropay and the late Dr. Robert N. Hook; grandfather of Ashley, Kenneth, Jr. and Lacey Rhein; great-grandfather of Mark David Majewski and Fallon Rhein-Lindsay.
