Margaret E. Kochell

Margaret E. Kochell, (nee Wood), 72, of Harrison, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, May 26, surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Jersey City, Margaret was a lifelong resident of Harrison. She was a homemaker.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 50 years and five months, John Kochell, loving sons, John and Kevin, three grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, seven sisters and three brothers. Margaret is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.

The funeral was conducted by the Mulligan Funeral Home, 331 Cleveland Ave., Harrison. A funeral service was held in the funeral home. Her interment was in Arlington Cemetery, Kearny. For information or to send condolences to the family, please visit www.mulliganfuneralhome.org.

Rose Krol

Rose Krol, (nee Roginski), 88, of Harrison, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, May 30.

Born in Harrison, she was a lifelong resident. She was a parishioner of Our Lady of Czestochowa Church and a member of the East Newark Seniors Citizens. In her free time, she enjoyed visiting Atlantic City.

Predeceased by her husband Karl Krol in 1977, she is survived by her brother Chester Roginski and many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews. She is also survived by her dear friends Marisol Lazaro and Walter Szlarski. A

Robert F. Magullian

Robert F. Magullian died on May 27. He was 78. Bob lived many years in Kearny before moving to Ocean County in 1997.

Bob served in the U.S. Army and was a graduate of Rutgers University. He managed his family business, Magullian Heating and Cooling, for many years. He was past president of the West Hudson Hospital Board of Directors, he was also a member of Rotary and the West Hudson South Bergen Chamber of Commerce. Bob volunteered for The Salvation Army.

Husband of the late Frances (nee Mayhack), he was the father of Donna Magullian, Deborah Vecchio, Dawn Fernandes, John P. Reilly Jr., Carol DeOliveira, Christine Marquez, Laurie Horn and the late Robert B. Magullian. Brother of the late John, he is also survived by 19 grandchildren and one great-grandson.

In lieu of flowers, a donation to St Jude’s Hospital or Wounded Warriors would be appreciated.

Ruth E. Manzi

Ruth E. Manzi, 84, of Toms River, passed away Nov. 2, 2012, at Hackensack Hospital in Hackensack.

Ruth was born in Green Land, N.H., and had resided in Hasbrouck Heights before moving to Toms River in 1980.

As a homemaker, Ruth loved taking care of her family, playing Bingo games and she had to be one of the biggest Yankee fans in history.

She was the wife of the late Albino who died June 2, 2000.

Surviving are her sons Anthony, Joseph, Raphael, Michael and her daughter Anne Marie; her sisters Florence Valhous, Edna Pantelakos and her nine cherished grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

The family is receiving relatives and friends in a celebration of Ruth’s life, on Friday June 7 from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Services will be 10 a.m. at Silverton Memorial Funeral Home, 2482 Church Rd., Toms River, with an internment of cremains at the New Jersey Veterans Cemetery, Wrightstown.

Sheila McGinn

Sheila McGinn (Gallagher) 75, died on May 28 in the Belgrove Post Acute Care Center, Kearny. Arrangements were by the Thiele-Reid Family Funeral Home, 585 Belgrove Drive, Kearny.

A funeral Mass was offered in Our Lady of Sorrows Church, Kearny, on May 31, followed by interment at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington. Condolences and memories may be shared at www.thiele-reid.com.

Sheila was born in Scotland and came to this country in 1960 and lived in North Arlington. She later lived in Kearny for many years before moving back to North Arlington in 2003.

Mrs. McGinn was a secretary at West Hudson Hospital in Kearny for 28 years before retiring. She is survived by her husband John; children Maryanne Carson (Greg) Mark, Michael and John (Luzia); sister Kathleen Gallagher; granddaughter Julia McGinn and great-grandchildren Jayden and Dylan.

Shirley O’Rourke

Shirley O’Rourke (Tyrell), 82, died on May 25 at her home in Kearny.

Mrs. O’Rourke was born in Scranton, Pa., and has lived in Kearny for the last 50 years.

She was employed as an accounting clerk at Mutual Benefit in Newark for 15 years, retiring in 1990. She then went on to manage the cafeteria at St. Cecilia School in Kearny for five years. Shirley was a member of the St. Stephen’s Seniors in Kearny as well as a member of the East Newark Seniors.

She is survived by her husband of 57 years Joe; children Michael, Karen, Patricia Moran (George) and Jody; sisters Regina Harris and Lorraine Stefanic; grandchildren Christina, Nicole, Jason and Nicholas and many nieces and nephews.
