July 6

An effort by police to disperse youths continuing to hang out after a township fireworks display resulted in a summons charging disconduct issued to Antonio Torres, 19, of Lyndhurst, at 10:37 p.m. at Valley Brook Ave. and Lyndhurst Ave. Police said they encountered the same group of teens three times and, each time, they said they asked them to leave but Torres, in particular, continued to be uncooperative.

July 5

At 7:39 p.m., police said the Carlstadt owner of a landscaping trailer called them to report the theft of a $600 gas-powered hedge trimmer from the trailer while it was parked on Park Ave.

At 7 a.m., the owner of a 2010 Ford parked in the 200 block of Irving Place reported the theft of coins and a GPS unit valued at $200 from their vehicle. Police said they found no sign of forced entry.

July 3

At 2:03 p.m., police reported getting a call from a resident about juveniles suspected of smoking marijuana outside Jefferson School on Lake Ave. Officers responding said they found a 16-yearold Lyndhurst youth allegedly in possession of drug paraphernalia, a small glass pipe commonly used for smoking pot. The youth was released to a family member pending a juvenile court hearing.

At 12:54 p.m., police made a motor vehicle stop of a car with tinted windows traveling on Ridge Road near Second Ave. Police said the driver, Anthony Giaimo, 18, of Bloomfield, was issued a summons charging him with possession of drug paraphernalia, a grinder, while his passenger, Alana Grillo, 18, of Nutley, was ticketed on the charge of possession of a small amount of marijuana.
