Mayor Raymond Kimble and the Municipal Council sponsor family movie nights Thursday, June 25, and Wednesday, Aug. 12, at the Municipal Stadium. Movies begin at dusk. Admission is free for township residents. Movies and sponsors are to be determined. The event includes free popcorn and cotton candy. Rain dates are Friday, June 26, and Thursday, Aug 13.

Harrison

Kearny 

Kearny Baseball Booster Club holds its third annual golf outing at the Farmstead Golf Course, Lafayette, Saturday, June 13, at 1 p.m. The event includes gifts, drawings and prizes. Bus transportation is available, leaving from Franklin Field at 11:30 a.m. The cost is $140 per golfer with bus transportation or $130 with no bus transportation. Presbyterian Boys-Girls Club, 663 Kearny Ave., hosts its annual beach party Friday, June 12, 7 to 10 p.m. Guests are encouraged to dress for the beach. Prizes will be given to the best dancers and for the best beachwear. Guests are restricted to teenagers only. Kearny teachers and members of the club’s board of directors will supervise the dance.

Kearny Public Library, 318 Kearny Ave., will offer a free four-week science class, open to grades 1 and 2, beginning Monday, June 22. The children will explore science and nature through stories and crafts. Classes are held on Mondays, 11 a.m. to noon, on the lower level of the Main Library. The Salvation Army of Greater Kearny offers classes in basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite, every Monday and Tuesday, 10 a.m. to noon. Cost is $30 per 12 hours of instruction. Lyndhurst Food Pantry summer hours have kicked in. The pantry will be open Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Regular hours will resume Monday, Sept. 14.

The library has vouchers for the American Museum of Natural History in New York City. Each voucher can be redeemed for free general admission and one special exhibition, film, or live animal exhibition of the visitor’s choosing. Queen of Peace Knights of Columbus announces a flag retirement ceremony at the Columbian Club Hall grounds, 194 River Road, Monday, June 15, at 7 p.m. Flags that are torn, tattered, or in poor shape may be brought for proper disposal.

The Knights are also sponsoring a bus trip Tuesday, June 23 to the Sands Casino, Bethlehem, Pa., leaving from the Columbian Club Hall at 10 a.m. Cost is $32.
