John F. DeVincenzo
John F. DeVincenzo died June 3.
He was 89.
Born in Newark, he lived most of his life in Kearny.
Relatives and friends are invited to the Armitage & Wiggins Funeral Home, 596 Belgrove Drive, Kearny, on Wednesday, June 15, at 11:30 a.m. Those attending will form a procession and travel around Gunnel Oval in Kearny and then to Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington, for a graveside service.
John was the husband of the late Rose Marie (nee Squibb).
He is survived by his sons and their wives John R. and Judy DeVincenzo and Gary L. and Linda DeVincenzo. Brother of Marty and the late Anthony DeVincenzo, he is also survived by his grandchildren Jared, Dara, Marci, Rachel and Ashley and his great-grandchildren Giada and Jacob.

Danielle ‘DD’ Falstrom
Miss Danielle “DD” Falstrom of Kearny died in Newark on June 4.
She was only 21 years old and was a 2014 graduate of Kearny High School.
A memorial visitation will be held in the Condon Funeral Home, 684 Kearny Ave., Kearny, (condonfuneralhome.com) on Tuesday, June 14, from 5 to 9 p.m. A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, June 15, at 10:30 a.m., at St. Stephen’s Church, 676 Kearny Ave., Kearny. Everyone is asked to meet at church for Mass.
Danielle is survived by her parents, Paul Falstrom of Kearny and Patty Falstrom of Philadelphia. Also surviving are her grandfather, Robert Falstrom of Kearny and her aunts, Maryanne Spatola and Sandy Spatola as well as her many uncles, cousins and friends.
It is the family’s wish that in lieu of flowers, people consider a donation to NCADD (National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence) at www.ncadd.org.
Elizabeth Rogers
Elizabeth “Lil” Rogers (nee Peden) passed away June 11.
She was 97.
Visiting will be on Wednesday, June 15, from 2 to 6 p.m., at the Armitage & Wiggins Funeral Home, 596 Belgrove Drive, Kearny. The service and burial are private.
Mrs. Rogers was past president of the Joseph E. Frobisher American Legion Post 99 Woman’s Auxiliary in Kearny. Her brother, Joseph Peden, was the first young sailor from Kearny killed in the South Pacific during World War II.
Peden Terrace in Kearny was named in his memory.
Elizabeth was the last living Peden from Kearny.
Wife of the late Alexander G. Rogers, she is survived by her children and their spouses: Florence and Richard Hare, Sally and Joseph Petito, Bob and Marge Rogers and Betty Rogers and Bernie Narozny.
She was predeceased by her sons William and Eddie Rogers and her daughter-in-law Norma. Also surviving are 13 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren, all of whom call her “Lovie,” a name given to her by her great-granddaughter Kara.

Joyce A. Picariello
Joyce A. Picariello (nee Mazur) passed away at home on June 10 after a courageous battle against cancer.
She was 59.
Born in Newark, she lived in Harrison before moving to Kearny 33 years ago.
Visiting will be on Tuesday, June 14, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m., at the Armitage & Wiggins Funeral Home, 596 Belgrove Drive, Kearny. Mass will be celebrated Wednesday, June 15, at 10 a.m., at St Cecilia’s Church, Kearny. Burial will take place at Glendale Cemetery, Bloomfield.
Joyce was an IT assistant at PSE&G.
She is survived by her husband Gene Picariello and her daughter and son-in law Lauren Zembrzuski and David. She is also survived by one sister and two brothers.
