The Kearny Police Department seeks the public’s help to solve a September robbery case involving a Ma & Pa pair of criminals.
Capt. Timothy Wagner, the Kearny PD’s public information officer, says that on Sept. 21 at 8:28 a.m., Officer Pedro Pina responded to the 800 block of Devon Street on a report of a robbery. A 28-year-old Kearny man reported that he was on the front steps of a nearby apartment building when a vehicle stopped nearby.
A man exited the vehicle and approached the victim holding a revolver and demanding everything he had, Wagner says. The robber then took the victim’s wallet and cell phone before getting back into the passenger seat of the awaiting getaway car that then sped off.
Det. Neil Nelson took over the subsequent investigation.
Through collaboration with Det. Tom Sumowski, Wagner says, the two identified Andrea C. Ingalls, 30, of Newark, as the get-away driver in this case and on Oct. 11, a warrant was issued for Ingalls’s arrest, charging her with robbery, unlawful possession of a weapon (revolver), possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose (a revolver) and conspiracy.
On Oct. 18, Ingalls was arrested on the warrant by the Hudson County Sheriff’s Office and turned over to the Kearny PD.
She was processed and remanded to the Hudson County Jail.
The investigation as to the identity of Ingalls’s male accomplice remains active.
