KEARNY–
A 22-year-old Newark man who allegedly molested a young mother on Devon St. near West Hudson Park on Saturday evening, June 4, was arrested in Harrison within minutes of the assault, police reported.
The victim, a 28-year-old Kearny resident, was walking on Devon with her two small children at 6:20 p.m. when she was accosted.
Kearny Police Chief John Dowie said the victim told officers that a man talking on a cell phone, or pretending to, walked past her and the children, then spun around and grabbed her, putting his hand over her mouth and warning her, in Spanish, not to scream.
The assailant then grabbed her breasts and genital area, police said.

The woman struggled, managed to break free and began screaming – and her attacker fled on foot south on Devon.
