Big bang in Nutley still a mystery

NUTLEY –

Authorities are investigating an outside explosion that took place at 8:45 a.m. Saturday, July 13, at Prospect and Centre Sts., it was announced by Acting Essex County Prosecutor Carolyn A. Murray and Nutley Police John Holland.

They said that responding officers and investigators determined that a device exploded near the curb at this location.

No injuries were reported; however, the impact of the blast shattered some windows in the area, they said.

The incident is being investigated by the Essex County Prosecutor’s Major Crimes Task Force and the Nutley Police Department, according to Chief Assistant Prosecutor Thomas S. Fennelly of the Major Crimes Unit.
