There’s a baseball dynasty in Kearny –  and it has nothing to do with the Yankees.
For the second straight year, the third time in the last six years and fifth time in eight years, Rick’s Auto Body captured the Kearny Little League World Series championship, defeating FMBA in the best-of-three championship series last week, winning both games.
Rick’s Auto Body won Game 1 of the championship series at Veteran’s Field on Belgrove Drive by a final score of 10-0 and took Game 2 and the title with a 14-2 win at the Little League field in Gunnell Oval.
It capped a perfect 19-0 season for Rick’s Auto Body and improved the team’s record to an astounding 38-1 over the last two seasons.
This season alone, Rick’s outscored their opponents by a staggering combined total of 267-20.
Yes, those numbers certainly look like the makings of a true dynasty.
Joe Witt has been the manager and the mastermind of this incredible run for Rick’s Auto Body. It’s no coincidence that the Witt-led squad dominates the local Little League circuit, because no one works harder with the kids than Witt.
