Patrick Lico
Patrick Lico of Kearny died peacefully on March 31 ,2021.
He was 85.
Patrick is survived by his three children Frank Lico, Dawn Lico and Nicole Breedlove (Lico); son-in-law Jonathan Breedlove; stepson Bruce Kocenski; grandchildren Francki Lynn and Aidan Jonathan Breedlove and Julianna Kocenski; sister Barbara Richiusa and her husband Gordan and sister Rosemary Genovese and brother-in-law Frank Genovese.
A veteran of the U.S. Army, Patrick was a revered employee of Kearny ShopRite for over 58 years and was also known in Kearny as “the poetry man” as he composed many personalized pieces of poetry for friends and loved ones over the years. All who knew him knew of his love of trivia and the New York Yankees.
Patrick spent the last seven years living with family in Howell, but his heart always belonged to his hometown Kearny.

Alessandro ‘Alex’ Samaan
Alessandro “Alex” Samaan, 25, of North Arlington, died Wednesday, March 31, 2021.
The beloved son of Margaret (nee Failla) and the late Baha “Sam” Samaan, he was the adored grandson of Maria and the late John Failla and dear brother of John Paul Samaan. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins.
The funeral was under the direction of the Ippolito-Stellato Funeral Home, Lyndhurst. Entombment was in Holy Cross Chapel Mausoleum, North Arlington.

Mary McCann
Mary McCann (nee Buchanan) died Friday, April 9, 2021.
She was 85.
The funeral will be conducted from the Mulligan Funeral Home, 331 Cleveland Ave., Harrison, on Wednesday, April 14 at 9:45 a.m. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Cross Church, Harrison, at 10:30 a.m. Friends and relatives may visit Tuesday, April 13, from 6 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday after 9 a.m. Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington.
Mary was born April 22, 1935 in Clydebank, Scotland, and emigrated to the US in 1955, where she was employed as a nanny. After raising her family, she was employed by Local 32 BJ for 25 years before retiring in 1996. She resided in Harrison and Kearny for 40 years before moving to Sussex County in 1999.
Mary is survived by four children, a daughter Mary Maier, her husband Richard and three sons John, Matthew and Robert. Also surviving are a sister Elizabeth of Mt. Olive; sisters Jean, Bridget and a brother James, all of Clydebank, Scotland, as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Robert and her sisters Martha and Ann, and brothers Matthew, Joseph and Redmond.
