Following a one-year hiatus caused by COVID-19, Kearny’s annual PAWrade returns Oct. 30, from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Arlington Depot Park.
A Doggie Halloween Costume Contest headlines the festival. Proof of a current dog license and up-to-date rabies vaccine is required with complete registration. Pre-registration is available through Oct. 27 online at https://forms.gle/pYUbnVVPACSGX5Uu8 . Download forms from www.kearnynj.org, or pick up forms at Kearny Town Hall or K-9 Corner/Bone Appetit Barkery (169 Midland Ave., Kearny.)
You may also register on the day of the event from 10 to 11:30 a.m. You must have proper paperwork to register at the PAWrade.
There will also be opportunities to provide forever homes to dogs from both the Bergen County Animal Shelter and Associated Humane Society-Newark Branch.
Also scheduled is free microchipping, a Doggie Paint Collage, a “Doggie Bone Yard,” a Doggie Halloween Balloon Photo Wall, Sugar Skull Dog Portraits, a meet and greet with Blue from Blue’s Clues, a Pitty (Pit Bull) Kissing Fundraising Booth, Pup-kin Pumpkin Painting, a Dog Food Buffet, Dog & Human Halloween Treats and more.
Only one dog per handler; handlers must 18 or older.
