Small fire breaks out at Lyndhurst chemical company’s building

No injuries were reported in a small fire at the Sika Chemical Corp.’s offices in Lyndhurst this afternoon, Det. Lt. Vincent Auteri told The Observer.

According to Auteri:

A small fire broke out when a contractor’s welding caused a building to catch fire near 201 Polito Ave. The Lyndhurst Fire Department quickly knocked the fire down, Auteri said, noting there were no injuries. There was also no immediate danger of chemicals igniting, either, Auteri said.
