Cautionary tale for cemetery visitors

NORTH ARLINGTON –
A bold thief,  undeterred by the fact that the vehicle was occupied,  stole a purse from a car in Holy Cross Cemetery the afternoon of Sunday, July 10, police reported.
Luckily, neither the owner of the car  nor  her friend who was sitting in it was hurt. Both women are senior citizens.
According to Police Chief  Louis Ghione, the crime occurred at 2 p.m.  after the driver, an 80-year-old from Kearny,  had exited the car, leaving it unlocked but with her 79-year-old friend remaining in the passenger seat. The purse was on the rear seat.
