For the last six years, an All-Star team formed from the Kearny Recreation Softball League has moved on to play in a travel league that encompasses Hudson and Bergen Counties.
The team has been coached by a host of dedicated men, spearheaded by attorney Nat Amadeo, who has been waging a personal battle against leukemia for a few years and remains strong-willed and determined.
“It’s good therapy for me,” Amadeo said. “I look forward to coaching the girls. It gives me something to look forward to. There’s a lot of stuff I can’t do. That’s why it’s great to have a good coaching staff with me. But I still can get out there, fill out the lineup cards. It makes me feel really good.”
