Holy Cross Church sponsors a bus trip to the Taj Mahal in Atlantic City on Sunday, Sept. 6. The bus leaves from Holy Cross School at 10 a.m. Refreshments will be served in the school basement starting at 9:15 a.m. Cost is $30 with a $25 rebate. ID is required. The PBGC, 663 Kearny Ave., hosts its annual Tricky Tray on Saturday, Oct. 17. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. Tickets are $15 per person (no children). Admission includes a sheet of small prizes, coffee, soda, water and dessert. Among the big prizes from a 50/50 will be a flt screen TV, iPad, PS4 and Giants football tickets. VFW Post 1302, Belgrove Drive, hosts its second annual Octoberfest (to welcome home returning troops) on Saturday, Oct. 3, from noon to 6 p.m. There will be live music, craft beer, food, family fun and much more.

The Junior Women’s Club of Arlington is hosting a “Back to the 80s” dinner-dance on Friday, Sept. 25, from 7 to 11 p.m., at the LCCC, 9 Davis Ave. For the $35 admission, plus a nonperishable food item, guests are entitled to appetizers, dinner, dancing and dessert and there will be a 50/50, raffle baskets and a costume contest. West Hudson Arts and Theater Co. holds open auditions for Disney’s “Beauty & the Beast Jr.” Sept. 8 and 9 at 7 p.m. and Sept. 12 at 1 p.m. at the theater, (in residence at the First Lutheran Church), 65 Oakwood Ave.

No experience, membership or fee is required to audition or perform with the group. Visit www.whatco.org to download the audition form, complete it and bring it with you when you audition. Kearny UNICO holds its next monthly membership meeting on Thursday, Sept. 10, at 7 p.m., at American Legion Post 99, 314 Belgrove Drive.

UNICO has scheduled a fundraising bus trip to the Tropicana Casino in Atlantic City for Sunday, Sept. 20.
