A candy caper and other crime news

NUTLEY —
A bank robbery (but not what you’d think), a case of really raging road rage, and the soothing sound of jackhammers were among the items on the Nutley police blotter for the week ending June 17.
The bank heist occurred after hours on June 12 at a local financial institution the police declined to identify. At 6:15 p.m., police said, a caller reported seeing several juveniles enter the closed bank and remove lollipops from a container on the counter. Police said nothing else was taken.
Bank administrators were notified that the front door had apparently been left unlocked.
On June 11, at 10:56 p.m., police were called to Washington Ave. in response to a report of a woman in a Ford Taurus intentionally ramming her vehicle into a parked Jaguar. After a short pursuit, police apprehended her in Belleville and arrested her for DUI, criminal mischief and possession of a weapon (the Taurus) for unlawful purpose.
