Lt. Matthew Vogel, Hudson County sheriff’s officer who died from COVID complications, is laid to rest

Hundreds of police officers from throughout the region joined family and friends of Lt. Matthew Vogel to honor his life of service to the community. Vogel, who served as a Hudson County Sheriff’s Officer for 22 years, was laid to rest Tuesday, Jan. 4 in Clifton in Crest Haven Cemetery. “It was heartwarming to see the incredible turnout for Lt. Vogel and his family after his tragic passing last week,” Hudson County Sheriff Francis Schillari said. “Lt. Vogel touched so many lives throughout his career in law enforcement and the legacy he left behind will never be forgotten.”
