Sheila McDade

Sheila McDade, (nee McCarthy), 83, died Sunday, Sept. 20, 2020, at Clara Maass Medical Center, Belleville.

The funeral will be from the Thiele-Reid Family Funeral Home, 585 Belgrove Drive, Kearny, on Wednesday, Sept. 23, at 9 a.m. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Cecilia Church, Kearny, at 10 a.m. Entombment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit at the funeral home Tuesday, Sept. 22, from 4 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Ms. McDade was born in Ballyfinane, Co. Kerry, Ireland. She immigrated to the United States in 1953 and has lived in Kearny for the last 55 years.

Sheila was the first female saleswoman at Faitoute Steel Company in Newark, which was later named Metals USA. She worked there for 35 years before retiring in 2005.

She is survived by her husband, Michael Solwecki, one son, Brendan McDade and his wife, Bobbi, two sisters, Norah McCarthy and Eileen Connery and one brother, Edward McCarthy.

Sheila was predeceased by her first husband, James McDade and three sisters, Mary Keane, Bridget Lyttle and Ann Ryan.

Anna M. Delaney

Anna M. Delaney (nee Letoski), 86, of North Arlington, died Wednesday, Sept. 16,2020.

Beloved wife of the late John B. Delaney, she was the devoted daughter of the late Frank & Helen (nee Perhach) Letoski; the loving mother of Jacqueline Delaney & her fiancé Sean Petrasek and the late Sandra & James Hodkinson. Cherished grandmother of Christian, she was the dear sister of Emery Letoski and the late Leo, Johnny, Frankie, Joseph & Robert Letoski, Helen Dwinchick, Dorothy Gados and Florence Magli.  She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

The funeral is Tuesday at 9 a.m., from the Ippolito-Stellato Funeral Home, 425 Ridge Road, Lyndhurst. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. at Queen of Peace Church, North Arlington. Interment is in Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington.
