Belleville, Nutley COVID-19 death count rises

The two Essex County towns The Observer covers continue to see astonishing COVID-19 related numbers.

As of 9 a.m. this morning, Belleville has 574 confirmed cases and has had 32 residents die.

In the same timeframe, Nutley has 301 cases and a total of 21 fatalities.

According to figures released by the county (they’re released by the county each morning around 9), Essex has 9,126 total confirmed COVID cases with an incomprehensible 640 deaths.
