The Borough of North Arlington, last week, changed the name of Disposal Road to Silkowski Road in honor of Firefighter Richard Silkowski. He was a lifetime member of Engine Co. 2 and an employee of the North Arlington Department of Public Works. Robert K. Melofchik Sr., also a firefighter, and a former chief of the department, was instrumental in the street renaming.
