Official: Crash ‘looked a lot worse than it was’

If you were stuck in traffic on the Belleville Pike, or Kearny Ave., or Ridge Road, or surrounding streets, during Friday morning’s rush hour, this was the reason. At 8:25 a.m., a car and an NJ Transit bus collided on Kearny Ave. near the former Lincoln Theater. Police said there were minor injuries to two bus passengers, but apparently the crash ‘looked a lot worse than it was.’ Not so for the traffic jams; they were as bad as they looked. Continue Reading

Killer of Kearny teen gets life in prison

KEARNY – The Pennsylvania man who murdered 16-yearold Alishia Colon in her Belgrove Drive home in 2013 was sentenced Friday to life in prison by Hudson County Superior Court Judge Martha Royster.
