Following Christmas fire in Lyndhurst, home declared uninhabitable

On Christmas Day, a 911 call reported an electrical fire in a residence on the 700 block of Fourth Street. A chief arrived on scene and confirmed a working fire assignment with heavy smoke in the residence. As a result, North Arlington Fire Department was dispatched for a FAST. First arriving companies were able to open up and knock down all visible fire that was running an interior wall from the basement. The fire was quickly placed under control and there were no injuries. The residence was unfortunately deemed uninhabitable by the Lyndhurst Building Department, temporarily displacing the residents. The cause of the fire was determined to be electrical in nature. Photos by Michael Saggau Jr.
